Dinçer Güçyeter

Dinçer Güçyeter, born in Nettetal in 1979, is a poet, editor, and publisher. Güçyeter grew up as the son of a pub owner and an employee. In 2012, Güçyeter founded ELIF Verlag, a publishing house specialized in poetry. Güçyeter financed his publishing house for a long time by working part-time as a forklift driver.

Aus Glut geschnitzt (Carved from Embers) was published in 2017 and Mein Prinz, ich bin das Ghetto (My Prince, I Am the Ghetto) in 2021. In 2022, Güçyeter received the Peter Huchel Prize. His novel Unser Deutschlandmärchen (Our German Fairy Tale) was awarded the Leipzig Book Fair Prize in 2023. The novel is being translated into various languages and performed in three stage versions in Berlin, Münster, and Aachen. In 2024, he received the Else Lasker-Schüler Prize. He is the father of two children and lives in Nettetal.
