A smart novel in the typical Hanika style: as long as it lasts she is deliriously happy, but then, the bizarre love affair fails. The failure is nothing new since all her earlier affairs ended unhappily, but the sheer dimension of misery she is overcome with astonishes her nonetheless. What is even more astonishing is the question as to why she had got involved in this affair in the first place – why she had exclusively secret affairs for years and had believed to find »a whole lotta love« in them. Needless to say, each time that love turned out to be just as brute as the song by Led Zeppelin.
Dancing on Concrete is a novel about how to overcome misery and how to reach bliss.
